After the heat and intermittent winds of recent days affected by the African anticyclone on the occasion of the Engie Kitesurf Challenge, an event organized from 1 to 4 July in the waters of the Stagnone di Marsala, the weather forecast announces Mistral with peaks over 20 knots.
Kitesurfing is a sailing sport and as such is practiced with the wind. Riders love the wind that they feel a bit like the fuel for their navigation and indeed they would like more and more. If the wind in kitesurfing is important to dedicate yourself to sessions and navigations along the coast, it is even more so during the competitions that are always organized well in advance and risking to run into calm and calm.
The wind blesses the Engie Kitesurf Challenge races
However, this will not be the case for the Engie Kitesurf Challenge, an organized event from 1 to 4 July in the waters of the Stagnone of Marsala. After the deadly cloud of the last week that brought heat, soaring temperatures and a hiccup wind, the forecasts speak for themselves precisely for the days of the race and are the most positive: stable and strong winds from the North West with peaks of over 20 knots, the classic Mistral that here in this wonderful Sicilian lagoon often accompanies kiters together with the Scirocco. A wonderful news for all the athletes enrolled of course who will be able to challenge each other in real and demanding conditions, but also for the organization of theEngie Kitesurf Challenge in the person of Antonio Gaudini, entrepreneur, federal technician and popularizer of this sport in Italy.

We remember that the Engie Kitesurf Challenge 2021 includes a Freestyle competition, valid as a stage of the Italian Championship that will see the best national athletes of the discipline challenge each other and a competition dedicated instead to Big Air in which the athletes will show the highest jumps using the kite propulsion. For all athletes competing there is a prize money of 1,500 euros for the first three athletes on the podium e free registration for the event for the first 20 athletes who will contact the race committee. There is still time to complete the registrations and, please, bring even small sails in your quiver: you will need them!
